FAQ

  • MUSC is a non-profit youth travel soccer organization based in central new jersey that provides professional training and development pathways for players of all levels. We currently comprise 36 boys and girls teams ranging across U7-U17 age groups.

  • MUSC teams participate in USYS National League, EDP leagues, APL Acela Premiership, NPL Mid-Atlantic Premier League and the Mid-New Jersey Youth Soccer Association League. We also participate in local, regional and national-level tournaments throughout the year.

  • We host tryouts each spring (April/May) for the following seasonal year. We also host Talent ID sessions throughout the year to enable opportunities for outside players to experience our environment and express interest.

Visit the Our Programs page for up-to-date information on tryouts and Talent ID sessions.

  • During the fall and spring seasons, our teams train a minimum of 2 days per week (training days are determined by the club and trainer), typically play 1 game per weekend and participate in 1 or more tournaments. In the winter and summer, MUSC teams train a minimum of 1 day per week, with game and tournament participation varying by team.

Visit the Our Club page for more detailed information about our team structure and commitment levels.

  • As a non-profit organization, our fees are based primarily on club/state/league registration costs, professional training costs and vary by age group. Fee information is delineated clearly in player offers post tryouts. Players are also required to purchase a uniform package (every two years) which typically includes home/away/training jerseys, shorts, socks and backpack.

Within the NJ youth soccer landscape, our fees are comparatively very reasonable offering considerable value in terms of year-long professional training and competitive playing opportunities.

  • It’s standard to have multiple teams per age group and our club philosophy is such that we strive to provide development opportunities at all levels. As such, players are rostered to the team whose overall skill level aligns best to the player’s skill level, providing the most effective development environment possible.

  • Training and home games are primarily held at Normandy Park and Nut Swamp School in Middletown, NJ with some other Middletown facilities in use as well.

Visit the Our Facilities page to learn more.

  • There are various volunteer opportunities available in the club.

If you’d like to volunteer as a Team Manager (administrative, non-coaching role), you may register, logging in under the same email address used to register your player(s) - navigate to My Account > Volunteer > Find Volunteer Roles and complete the Team Manager registration. Submissions are reviewed and Team Managers confirmed by the Board of Directors.

Periodically, there are also select volunteer opportunities on the club’s Board of Directors. Please email info@monmouthunited.com to express interest and a Board member will discuss possible opportunities with you.

Guides

Keys to Peak Parental Performance

As a parent, finding the right balance of enthusiasm and engagement in youth sports is not always easy. We’ve developed a set of guidelines that align with our philosophy which attempts to help maintain this delicate balance.

Subscribing to A TeamSnap Calendar

We use the TeamSnap platform as our primary vehicle for managing all team schedules and player availability tracking (training, games, scrimmages, tournaments, etc.) so it’s important to understand how to use this tool to stay updated in real time throughout the season. Use these simple instructions to learn how to automatically subscribe to your team’s TeamSnap calendar.

MDS Player Development Plan

Our training partner, MDS, has built a comprehensive Player Development Plan that Monmouth United players can use to self-evaluate their own performance, assess current skills, develop near-term objectives and create an action plan to support their continued development. This optional plan is available to all players to download, fill out and bring to their trainers for feedback, alignment and development support.

Policies

SafeSport Policy

We have a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and misconduct. All participants in the soccer community must play an active role in creating an environment free from abuse of any kind. Our policy, compliant with U.S. Soccer Policy 212-3, was developed to help all participants detect and report abuse, respond to it and prevent future occurrences.

Refund Policy

MUSC player fees are non-refundable. Player offers represent a 1-year commitment commencing July 1 of the year in which the offer is made and ending on June 30 of the following year. Our commitment to our players is just as important as their commitment to MUSC.

We are highly-committed as a club to good sportsmanship and appropriate conduct to enhance the experience of players, coaches, referees and spectators. As such, we expect the same level of commitment from all club members during club-affiliated events (games, trainings, tournaments, etc.).
